Brave, loyal dog saves owner’s life from mountain lion attack: ‘My dog is my hero’

Erin Wilson, from Trinity County, California, is the caring owner of a 2-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois named Eva who has become her hero.

One day they were walking near the river when their nice walk turned into a life-threatening accident. According to the Sacramento Bee, a mountain lion lunged at Erin. He was growling and scratching her jacket and Erin could do nothing but call Eva for help. The brave dog, however, wasn’t belated.

The brave and faithful dog did everything in her power to save her owner but as Erin told she was “latched on to her skull,” which caused great pain. Erin helped her pet to fight against the big cat with sticks and rocks and enlist the help of a nearby motorist, who ended the attack by spraying the wild animal with pepper spray.

After the heroic fight, the dog’s skull was severely damaged and Erin told that: “She has 2 fractures to her skull, a puncture into the sinus cavity and severe swelling around her left eye, which is impeding her vision.” Here is the Instagram page where you can find more about Eva and Erin.

So the caring owner began her careful treatment. Though Eva suffered some bad injuries in the process, she saved her owner’s life. “My dog is my hero and I owe her my life,” Erin wrote on GoFundMe.
