SHELTER DOG GETS OUT OF KENNEL ONE NIGHT AND THROWS A PARTY

Since he was a puppy, Gilligan has been at the Bedford County Humane Society in Pennsylvania. He had a terrible start in life that left him with a lot of challenges to overcome, so the shelter decided to put him to work as an office greeter, which he enjoys.

Joyce Ross, an employee at Bedford County Humane Society, told The Dodo, “He is an excellent workplace greeting.” “Every time someone passes through the door, he informs us while patiently waiting for the visitor to bring him goodies or a new toy.” He’s made a lot of development.”

Someone at the shelter recently put Gilligan in his kennel but didn’t latch it properly as they were closing up for the night. He was able to wiggle the door open and get himself free after everyone had gone home for the night. He was alone in the shelter and had the freedom to do anything he pleased, so he threw himself a party.

“He hecked the building for a long time to see whether anyone was inside,” Ross added. “When he realized he was alone, he immediately went for the toys.” He took them one by one from the pile of Christmas contributions we had just gotten and brought them into the hallway to play with them and rip the squeakers out.”

Gilligan let loose and dragged his new toys all over the place. His shambles took up numerous corridors and rooms. It was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime event.

When everyone arrived at the shelter the next day, they didn’t need to try and figure out who had caused the mess. Gilligan was right there, so proud of himself and ready to take ownership of the whole thing as he did a little happy dance.

“He had no remorse and he was happy to see a familiar face,” Ross said.

As everyone surveyed the mess, they were happy to see that Gilligan had kept his party relatively contained. He hadn’t gone for the food or anything. He’d only been interested in the toys with squeakers and made it very clear to all of the other dogs at the shelter that those ones were his now.
